Cargo theft concerns growing in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Cargo thefts are on the rise in Tennessee, with the Midstate now ranking fourth for having the highest volume of cargo thefts in the country.

However, recent data from Overhaul—a company that tracks cargo theft data as well as other supply chain risks—shows the first decline in year-over-year nationwide cargo theft since 2021. Memphis is one hot spot of note, which saw a 27% increase in cargo thefts compared to last year.
