Electrical fire halts surgeries, admissions at Methodist Hospital

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s University Hospital is limiting new admissions and postponing surgeries Thursday due to damage from an electrical fire.

A hospital spokesperson said a transformer fire outside the Medical District hospital early Thursday morning damaged electrical systems that support portions of the hospital’s air chiller operations.
