Runners gather to combat recidivism at Memphis fundraiser

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A little early morning rain didn’t stop dozens of people from running to reduce recidivism at Shelby Farms on Sunday.

It was a fundraiser for an organization who’s made it its mission to assist those recently incarcerated.

This group of walkers and runners ran for one reason — to reduce recidivism in their community.

“After being gone so long, everything’s changed. The technology, we’re trying to play catch-up,” explained Demetrius Van Crocker. “I didn’t even know how to work my cell phone.”…
