Memphis man honored nationally on World Blood Donor Day

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man is being recognized on the national stage for a lifetime of helping others through blood donation.

On World Blood Donor Day, the American Red Cross of Tennessee honored Shaun Brennan by highlighting the dedication of the collection room in the Dr. Charles Drew Red Cross Blood and Platelet Donation Center at the organization’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

According to the Red Cross, Brennan has donated blood, platelets and plasma more than 500 times over the past 30 years.

The organization said Brennan’s commitment has helped save countless lives and serves as an example of the impact one person can have through regular blood donation.

“Shaun’s legacy is not measured only in awards or numbers, but in lives strengthened, families supported and hope restored in moments of crisis,” the Red Cross said in a statement.
