MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was critically injured in a shooting near a southeast Memphis restaurant late Friday night, according to Memphis Police.
Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to an aggravated assault involving gunfire at Happy Mexican Restaurant in the 7900 block of Winchester Road.
According to police, a man called for help and initially reported that he had shot himself at the location. However, officers later learned the man was no longer at the scene and had arrived at St. Francis Hospital on Park Avenue.
