Newly elected County Commissioner accused of misusing grant funding

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A newly elected county commissioner, Lashanta Rudd, has been accused of misappropriating grant funding related to a non-profit organization called Serving In Christ Outreach.

In a memo to the Chief Administrative Officer obtained by Action News 5, the City of Memphis audit manager found “unallowable and unsupported expenses totaling $10,512.20 that did not align with the core objectives denoted in the budget request.″
