MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Community members, library staff, and labor advocates came together on Sunday for a rally to kick off their support for civil service protections for employees of the Memphis Public Library.
Organizers are aiming to encourage voter turnout for a ballot measure in November to secure civil service protections for library workers.
“And what better fight could we choose than to defend our library workers. They are so much than book pushers. They are essential social workers, providing tech-support and childcare in our communities.
