MEMPHIS, Tenn. Family members and friends gathered Friday evening along the Mississippi River to honor the life of Alfonzo Ivy, the man shot and killed during a U.S. Marshals task force operation at an East Memphis hotel last week.
Ahead of the candlelight vigil, Ivy’s daughter, Talancia Gulledge, spoke publicly for the first time since her father’s death, describing him as a devoted father and grandfather while saying her family is still searching for answers about the shooting.
“I really still don’t know what happened,” Gulledge said. “I still just don’t understand what went on.”…
