Chemical spill on I-40 causes traffic delays in West Memphis

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (WMC) – Westbound traffic is bumper-to-bumper on I-40 in West Memphis due to a chemical spill near Jennette Thursday night.

ARDOT reports that all westbound lanes are closed after a synthetic, highly corrosive liquid called phosgene oxime spilled onto the roadway near Mile Marker 267.6.

Transit officials were notified of the incident at 8:24 p.m.
