MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis River Park officials gear up for the second annual Tom Lee’s Mississippi River Gumption Revival Lantern Parade in October to honor Memphis hero Tom Lee.
A century ago, Tom Lee risked his life to row into the Mississippi River current and save thirty-two people from a capsized steamboat, guided only by a small lantern.
