Woman hit by car on South Third Street

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was left critically injured after being hit by a car Tuesday night in Southwest Memphis.

MPD says at 9:27 p.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run crash on South Third Street south of Horn Lake Road where a female pedestrian was found injured.

She was then taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

The driver was reportedly in a white car, possibly a Toyota Camry, with dark-tinted windows. The car was traveling northbound on South Third Street when it hit the woman crossing the street in the left northbound lane.

Police say the car then continued driving northbound passing Horn Lake Road. The vehicle may also have damages to the front and right side.

This is still an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
