Two arrested in Tipton County after pursuit in stolen Infiniti

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A pursuit involving Tipton County deputies and a stolen car led to two arrests over the weekend.

The Tipton County Sheriff’s Office said it started Sunday around 11 p.m. when a deputy saw a grey Infiniti G37 speeding on Highway 51 and Logan Street in Covington. The car was reported stolen out of Memphis.

The deputy tried to stop the stolen car, but the vehicle took off down Highway 51.

The sheriff’s office said deputies deployed stop sticks to disable the Infiniti near Marshall Road. The car lost control and drove into the median.

After the crash, the driver, 32-year-old Courtney Trenell from Memphis, and the passenger, 22-year-old Anterryca Herman from Memphis, ran away in different directions.

Deputies captured both suspects with assistance from the Atoka Police Department and Munford Police Department.

Trenell was charged with felony evading, theft over $10,000, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, resisting stop/frisk halt/arrest, and disregarding a stop sign.
