Suspects wanted after 12-year-old shot outside store

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are searching for three suspects after a 12-year-old was shot outside of a store in southwest Memphis Monday night.

Police say a man was walking out of a convenience store on West Raines Road around 10:47 p.m. when three suspects armed with pistols confronted him. The man ran to his vehicle, and two of the suspects fired shots at him.

According to police, the victim was not struck, but a 12-year-old passenger in the vehicle was hit.

The victim left the scene and followed the suspects, who continued to shoot at the vehicle several more times. The suspects then fled westbound on West Raines Road.

Police say one of the suspects, a male, was armed with a dark-colored handgun and wore a black hooded jacket.

The second suspect, a male, was wearing a black zip-up hooded jacket with a red and white stripe on the upper sleeve of each arm, a back shirt with white writing on the front, light-colored jeans, and black and white Nike shoes. Police say he was armed with a black handgun and appeared to have “twists” in his hair.
