MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There were frightening moments in Midtown when bullets went flying through a popular intersection. As a man ducked for cover, he caught the whole thing on camera.
Chaotic cellphone video shows the moments a person started shooting out of a moving car on Union at McLean. The car speeds by and then does a U-turn to fire more shots.
Robert Rowan managed to record while ducking to save his life, hoping to get a license plate number on the car that appeared to be a dark gray Challenger.
“You don’t think about dying in that moment but you’re like ‘Man, I hope I don’t get shot,’” Rowan said. “I was getting ready to do some work and literally as I was closing the door, an explosion of gunfire behind me.”

Rowan says this intersection is the heart of Midtown, with cars driving through to get to popular restaurants, apartments, a convenience store, and a major grocery store.
Bullets flying at 7 p.m. on a Wednesday could have hit anyone. Thankfully, Memphis Police say no one was hurt.
