As questions still remain about the circumstances of Memphis DJ Slick Rick ‘s death by decapitation , his family is preparing to lay him to rest.
After starting a fundraiser for burial costs, Rick’s (real name Rick Buchanan) sister Ashley Buchanan Shea shared an update that she and Rick’s niece (their brother John’s daughter) are in the process of making arrangements.
“Thank you so much to all that have donated,” said Shea in a statement shared on Facebook through a friend. “I know there’s hesitation sometimes with these things, but I promise you, it’s us. My niece and John’s daughter, Ashley Buchanan Shea, and I have created this because so many of you wanted to know how you could help. Well, this is how.
“We have begun planning the arrangements and we will post them as soon as we know something,” she continued. “At this point, we don’t have a timeline because we simply don’t know how long this process takes. So for those who didn’t feel comfortable asking, yes, this is how you can help. Many have offered food and visits, but I’m not sure we are up to that right now.”
