MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police say a woman was shot by her child’s father after she allegedly stabbed him.
MPD responded to the incident a little before 1 a.m. in the 6700 block of North Landing Way.
Reports state that a man was sitting in his car with a friend when his child’s mother came up with her hand behind her back.
They got into an argument, and the woman stabbed him in the upper left arm, police say.
The woman then ran away, and the man got out of the car and fired shots at her. She ducked behind cars before collapsing in the middle of the road.
The man left the scene on foot. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police say they went to the suspect’s house, but he was not home.
