Teen pleads guilty in the killing of a United Methodist Church leader in Tennessee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 16-year-old adolescent has admitted guilt to second-degree murder and carjacking charges related to the death of a prominent United Methodist Church leader in Tennessee. According to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, Miguel Andrade pleaded guilty in a Memphis courtroom on Thursday. Subsequently, he received sentences of 20 years for the second-degree murder conviction and an additional eight years for the carjacking charge. Andrade was 15 years old when he and Eduard Rodriguez-Tabora were indicted in February 2023 on charges of first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery linked to the death of Rev. Autura Eason-Williams, which occurred on July 18, 2022. Rodriguez-Tabora remains charged under the indictment and has pleaded not guilty.
