Break-in leads to shots fired, police chase overnight

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A break-in at a business led to shots fired in Grahamwood and a police chase across the city.

According to reports, at around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a burglary and aggravated assault call at Rick and Morty’s Smoke Shop on Summer Avenue.

The suspects broke into the store and fired shots at the victim who was inside; the victim was uninjured.

MPD says the suspects fled the scene in a black Kia SUV.

Officers found the Kia and followed it. The chase ended on Getwell near Goodman when the suspects fled on foot.

Three suspects were taken into custody– two of them were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

This remains an ongoing investigation, police say.
