A heartbreaking discovery has unfolded in the search for 30-year-old Kelly, who went missing from her Memphis, Tennessee, home late on Jan. 28.
Kimberly Sistrunk, Kelly’s mother, last saw her daughter seated inside her vehicle in their driveway. However, within a mere 30 minutes, Kelly had vanished, leaving her vehicle parked but empty.
Now, authorities in Marshall County, Mississippi, believe they may have found Kelly’s body, approximately 50 miles away from Memphis, in a wooded area off Interstate 22.
Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson confirmed to Fox13 that deputies discovered the body of a woman, believed to be Kelly, about four miles outside Holly Springs, Mississippi, on Sunday morning.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the woman, still clothed, had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. While an official cause of death is pending an autopsy report, authorities are treating the case as a homicide.
Kelly’s disappearance prompted the Memphis Police Department to issue a City Watch for a Missing and Endangered Person on January 31st.
