MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police were working to determine how a man ended up in the middle of a Frayser neighborhood, injured from a shooting.
After midnight Friday morning, detectives were called to Carlyle Drive and Balfour Street off North Watkins.
Investigators say the man was shot while turning around in someone’s driveway along St. Elmo Avenue, which is on the other side of North Watkins.
The man, along with a second uninjured person in the same car, managed to make it a few blocks away, where help was called.
The victim is expected to be okay.

There is a cloud of suspicion on why the victim drove blocks away from the scene, but also what prompted the shooting.
Neighbors in the area say they refuse to let attacks like this rip apart their sense of community.
Police say they are still looking for the gunman. This is an ongoing investigation
