Memphis Grizzlies’ bench rotation shake-up

The Memphis Grizzlies are preparing for the 2024-25 NBA season after a disappointing 2023-24 campaign, in which injuries decimated the roster, leaving the team scrambling to field a competitive lineup.

One silver lining, however, was the emergence of promising young talent, including point guard Scotty Pippen Jr., who joined the team in January 2024 and is about to start his third season in the league.

As training camp kicks off on October 1, competition for rotation spots will be fierce, particularly in the second unit, and some of the team’s veterans may find themselves with less playing time than expected.

According to Brian Buyawe from ClutchPoints , Derrick Rose could be one of those veterans in danger of losing his spot.

Scotty Pippen Jr., son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, made the most of his opportunities since signing a two-way contract with the Grizzlies. Pippen Jr. impressed during his 21 regular season games with Memphis, averaging 12.9 points and 4.7 assists, including a standout 28-point performance against the Los Angeles Lakers.
