1 dead after shooting in North Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead after a shooting in North Memphis early Wednesday morning, police say.

Just before 5 a.m., officers say they were called to a home at 2100 Lyon Avenue near Stovall Avenue and Britton Street.

When WREG crews arrived at the scene, one person was found lying on the ground. MPD says the shooting victim was pronounced dead.

At the time, it is still unclear if anyone has been taken into custody.

This is an ongoing investigation.
