Man hidden under trash after being brutally attacked

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have launched an investigation after a man was found beaten and hidden under trash on Thursday.

At 09:14 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault across from 741 Neptune Street.

The complainant told officers that at 9 a.m. while he was working his sanitation route, he heard a faint noise coming from a pile of trash across from 741 Neptune Street.

The complainant said that he, his co-worker and others discovered an older male victim beaten very badly and unable to speak.

When officers arrived at the scene, they saw the victim and noticed that his face and the back of his head were bleeding profusely. His face was also swollen.

The victim was conscious but unable to tell officers anything.

According to the police report, the victim appeared to be beaten up and then placed underneath trash to hide him.

The victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition.

Officers spoke to a resident living on Neptune Street.
