Memphis Man Arrested in Southaven for Attempted Murder

A man from Memphis has been arrested in Southaven, Mississippi and charged with attempt to commit murder.

On October 31st, 2024, officers with Southaven Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Town and Country Drive to respond to a report of gunfire.

According to a press release from Southaven Police Department, upon arrival, officers spoke with the suspect, who stated that the suspect fired multiple shots at him while pulling into the storage units.

While the officers were investigating, the suspect was identified as Gerren Mitchell, of Memphis.

Mitchell, age forty, was located by U.S. Marshals on November 12th and taken into police custody. He has been charged with attempt to commit murder.

The Southaven Police Department took to Facebook to speak about the collaboration with the U.S. Marshals. The post states, “The Southaven Police Department would like to thank the U.S. Marshals for apprehending Gerren Mitchell.”
