MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting outside Central High School in Midtown sent one juvenile to a hospital Monday afternoon.
Police said they responded at 2:44 p.m. and found the male victim in a parking lot. He is in critical condition at Regional One Hospital.
A suspect was found nearby and taken into custody. Police are calling this a “targeted incident” between a suspect and victim who knew each other.
A school board member said the shooting happened on the football field parking lot. A student was grazed by a bullet, and is now in critical condition at a hospital due to injuries from the exit wound.

A woman who spoke with WREG going by the name “Lady Bugg”, lives near the school and said that she is still trying to rationalize what led to the shooting.
“It was a lot of concerns out here, a lot of concerns,” she said. “Children and parents rushing in to get their children.”
