The Olive Branch Police Department (OBPD) received a welfare concern call at 8:06 p.m. on Saturday about a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Highway 302 and Craft Road.
When officers arrived, they had difficulty seeing inside the vehicle due to the dark window tint. Using a flashlight, officers noticed slight movement from the driver and detected a strong odor of marijuana. A rifle was also spotted on the driver’s lap.
Taking precautions, officers placed stop sticks beneath the vehicle and retreated to a safe position while awaiting backup. Additional officers from OBPD and the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department arrived to assist.
