MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis fraternity is spreading holiday cheer in a big way this weekend.
Members of the Memphis Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi gave back to the community in an effort to surprise and delight Memphians in need.
With over $2,500 in donations from the Achievement Foundation, the chapter surprised random individuals with $100 gift cards.
“Previously, it’s been a $50 gift card we’ve given out only to about 10 families,” said Dr. Dustin Fulton, the Chairman of Achievement Foundation. “So, now we’re growing this. We know as things get harder and how inflation has hit us even more, we can do a little bit more for people this holiday season.”
The group was able to spread the holiday cheer in multiple locations including Orange Mound, Hickory Hill and Whitehaven.
The first stop was SuperLo in South Memphis as WREG cameras were rolling and shoppers were thrilled to receive the unexpected gift.

The fraternity brothers are determined to show that their organization is about more than just partying – it’s about making a positive impact.
