However, in a subsequent hearing on Wednesday, Judge Karen Massey lowered the bond, despite objections from ADA Dennis. Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy emphasized that releasing Triplett would not be in the public interest, highlighting the severity of the charges and the danger posed by the defendant’s actions.

In a statement prior to the hearing, Mulroy said, ‘To throw a dog off a bridge, and then to do it again, shows a callous disregard for life that is beyond shocking, and which raises a public safety threat.’ After the hearing, DA Mulroy disagreed with the judge’s sentence, but he respected it.
