SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. – Two men were arrested and charged with multiple crimes after a shoplifting incident led to crashes with several vehicles, including a deputy’s patrol car, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said.
At around 5:50 Saturday evening, SCSO said, deputies were flagged down on a report of shoplifting from the Burlington Coat Factory on Winchester. The sheriff’s office said an employee had flagged down the deputies, telling them someone had just stolen merchandise and was trying to run.
When the deputies attempted to stop the man, SCSO said, he ran to a waiting car; the driver then rammed the deputy’s patrol car and two other vehicles in the parking lot before speeding onto Centennial and Winchester, where they hit another car…
