Spirit Airlines is making waves with a major expansion, adding 40 new routes this spring after completing a four-month bankruptcy restructuring. Starting in June, the Florida-based carrier will offer nonstop flights from Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) in Tennessee and Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) in South Carolina to Fort Lauderdale, Newark, and Orlando. Airfares for these routes start at just $50 one-way.
The airline is also launching 34 additional routes in May from cities like Nashville and Baltimore. Despite recent financial struggles, including a $1.2 billion loss last year, Spirit aims to offer more high-value travel options for its customers. The expansion is a key part of Spirit’s plan to strengthen its post-bankruptcy recovery.
