MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 3-year-old boy was shot in the face by bullet fragments, and a 23-year-old woman was shot in the leg after an argument turned into a shootout at a Frayser park Thursday evening, police say.
Around 5 p.m., officers responded to a call regarding someone being hit in the 4000 block of Ridgedale Street. No victims were found on the scene, but a man told police his wife saw someone who was shot get into a black car and leave in an unknown direction.
Officers say they were then called to a shooting in the area of 3777 Edenburg at the Libertas School of Memphis. That is where they found a woman who told them her car window was struck by gunfire.
