MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County officials are hosting another housing development meeting for residents in District 8.
Commissioners Mickell Lowery and Erika Sugarmon are inviting District 8 residents to attend part two of the Community Meeting on Development Opportunities. The event will occur Tuesday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m.
The free open forum will address the rising homeownership and rental housing shortage issue. Officials assert that local incomes are misaligned with housing costs because of outdated zoning regulations and decades of “prioritizing investment in certain communities over others.”…
