Germantown’s Farmington Boulevard Gets a Facelift: Pavement Rejuvenation Project Underway

As Germantown residents may have noticed, Farmington Boulevard is the focus of a new pavement rejuvenation project that kicked off earlier this week. According to a press release from the City of Germantown, this initiative is in partnership with Pavement Technologies and aims to preserve the asphalt’s integrity while extending the thoroughfare’s lifespan.

The decision to spruce up Farmington Boulevard was no roll of the dice. Selected due to its high volume of traffic and the aging condition of its asphalt, the street was also chosen for having previously undergone rejuvenation treatment. And before Pavement Technologies jumped in with both feet, a successful test area was completed, making sure the new application would work as planned. The City of Germantown confirmed, “The test was successful, confirming the roadway’s readiness for treatment.”

As for the nitty-gritty, the work currently progresses westward from Wolf River Boulevard to Brierbrook Road. The crews are plowing into the project one segment at a time to minimize the impact on the daily commute.
