The Germantown Police Department has released a comprehensive report highlighting weekly criminal activity and encounters, detailing a series of thefts, drug possessions, and physical confrontations within the city’s community. As per the report, spanning the week of May 4 to May 8, several victims reported burglaries including thefts from vehicles and businesses, alongside other incidents.
Among the series of events, a case on the 1200 block of South Germantown Road saw items taken from a business at approximately 3:10 p.m. Furthermore, a physical altercation on the 2200 block of Kimbrough Woods Place led to an arrest at 8:15 p.m. Notably, officers were compelled to also arrest two individuals on charges of narcotics possession on the 1900 block of South Germantown Road late at 10:42 p.m., indicative of the persisting drug issues plaguing certain areas.
The ensuing days were marred by a number of vehicle break-ins as reported from various localities, with six victims on the 6800 block of Travure Drive South alone notifying the police at 2:38 a.m. of the May 5 violations. Arrests made during the week included a subject taken into custody for being a primary aggressor in an altercation and another for shoplifting from a business on Poplar Avenue.
