Memphis, Tennessee – Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected across much of Tennessee today, with strong winds and large hail threatening travel and outdoor plans through 8 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, a Level 2 “Slight Risk” for severe weather stretches from Little Rock and Jonesboro through Memphis, Jackson, and Tupelo. Storms will move from northwest to southeast beginning around 9 a.m., with the primary hazards being wind gusts over 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters.
Cities including Memphis, Dyersburg, and Corinth could see multiple rounds of storms, with downed limbs or brief power outages possible.
