Little Rock, Ark. – More than 3.7 million people across Arkansas, northern Mississippi, and western Tennessee are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m. Sunday as dangerous storms sweep through the Mid-South, bringing the risk of tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail.
According to the National Weather Service, the watch area includes major cities like Little Rock, Memphis, Tupelo, and Greenville. A couple of tornadoes are possible, along with wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail as large as two inches in diameter.
Communities from Russellville and Pine Bluff to Camden and El Dorado should be prepared for sudden power outages, tree damage, and road debris. Interstate corridors including I-30, I-40, and I-55 could see hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility and falling limbs.
