Tennessee Weather Alert: Severe Storms and Tornado Risk for Memphis and the Mid-South

Strong storms are expected to hit parts of Tennessee and the Mid-South on Saturday, with damaging wind gusts, large hail, and the potential for tornadoes. The National Weather Service in Memphis has warned that the severe weather could affect areas between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., with Memphis, Tupelo, and Clarksville facing the highest risk.

Timing and Risk Levels

The National Weather Service has issued an “Enhanced Risk” (level 3 of 5) for areas south of I-40, including Oxford and Grenada. A “Slight Risk” (level 2) extends north toward Union City and Paris. The storms are expected to move from northwest to southeast and may form into clusters capable of bringing down trees and power lines.
