As xAI continues expanding its South Memphis footprint, so do the advocacy groups rallying against the artificial intelligence company.
On June 9, Tennessee state Rep. Justin J. Pearson, along with members of the NAACP, Memphis Community Against Pollution, Sierra Club and Mississippi state Rep. Cheikh Taylor, hosted a press conference at Springfield Baptist Church in Southaven. The group criticized xAI’s expansion into South Memphis and the risks of increased air pollution in DeSoto County.
