MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman working for a rock climbing non-profit who was arrested and charged with allegedly taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from the organization appeared in court Monday morning.
Roshaunda Burwell, who is out on bond, is accused of stealing $223,203.05 from Memphis Rox over time dating back more than three years. She is charged with theft of property $60,000-$250,000.
Following an audit this past April, what surfaced, according to investigators, was the discovery of hundreds of thousands going to Burwell’s personal bills.
Detectives allege just over $37,000 went to American Express ($37,290.95), more than $180,000 to Chase ($180,180.10), and over $5,000 went to Memphis Light, Gas, and Water ($5,732)…
