MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The mother of a man accused of bringing a gun into the Criminal Justice Center was arrested on Tuesday.
Deshunda Owsley, 46, has been charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence after she allegedly hid a cellphone that contained incriminating evidence of her son.
On June 25, detectives with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation after reports of a man bringing an automatic weapon into 201 Poplar.
The suspect was eventually identified as Dedrick Patterson.
After an arrest warrant was secured for Patterson, detectives and other law enforcement agencies went to his residence.
