Man charged in five car pileup that killed family of 3

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A McEwen, Tennessee man has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide in a multi-vehicle crash on I-40 and Hollywood in May that killed a family of three.

Robert Carmack, 25, who was booked in the Shelby County Jail Tuesday was also charged with four counts of aggravated assault, five counts of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, reckless driving and failure to exercise due care.

According to police, Carmack was traveling westbound on I-40 on the afternoon of May 31 when he caused a deadly chain reaction crash.
