13-year-old hit by car while riding bike in South Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 13-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding his bike Tuesday morning in South Memphis, police say.

Officers say they responded to a crash in the 300 block of Olive Avenue and Sardis Street around 11:10 a.m. They say a boy was found at the scene suffering from a cut on his right eye and abrasions on his back.

The boy told police he was riding his bike across South Wellington at Olive Avenue when he was hit by a car.
