MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) -No drastic changes have developed or changes in the forecast over the past 24 hours as rain chances will slowly increase over the next few days.
A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible for Saturday, but the vast majority of the Mid-South should stay high and dry. The area of high pressure that has allowed the region to stay dry over the past few days is slowly moving to the east and weakening. This is going to allow moisture from the south to sneak to the north and over our neck of the woods and elevate rain chances over the next few days. By the time Wednesday rolls around, scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely impact the area and while we aren’t expecting any severe weather, it is possible one or two of those thunderstorms could turn strong or even severe. Rain chances will come down ever so slightly to end next week and the following weekend, but the chance of rain is not going to dip to minimal values through the middle of July.
When it comes to temperatures and what it will feel like around the Mid-South, there will be a slight decrease by the middle of the work week. Overall, no one is going to get the next ten days confused for being cool, as lower 90s with a few upper 80s are expected for afternoon highs. Overnight lows will be consistently in the middle to lower 70s, too, and all these values/numbers are near average. Temperatures will be at their ‘coolest’ when rain chances are slightly higher, but it isn’t like there is a drastic difference in day-to-day highs or night-to-night lows…
