Couple uses forged checks to go on shopping spree

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Detectives with the Tipton County Sheriff’s office are looking for a couple they say used a forged check to purchase items from six stores in Tennessee and Mississippi.

According to Sheriff Shannon Beasley, a man reported that his identity had been stolen and that his name had been forged in the process.

The victim said an unidentified male had unlawfully obtained checks bearing the victim’s name and personal information from Cadence Bank. He was able to use the checks with a fake Tennessee Driver’s license with the victim’s name on it…
