Woman charged as accessory after shots fired at police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The girlfriend of a man who allegedly shot at Memphis Police officers downtown on the 4th of July has been arrested.

Alunda Dotson, 19, was charged as an accessory in the case.

Around 1:50 a.m. on July 4, officers responded to a call about an armed party with an extended magazine near Rufus Thomas Boulevard and Peabody Place, after learning about several people were involved in an argument.

When officers arrived, they say they heard shots and saw a man get into a dark-colored Nissan with a woman driving. When the man got into the getaway car, police say they saw a muzzle flash followed by shots being fired from that vehicle as it drove away…
