The Memphis Housing Authority has opened up its Project-Based Voucher waitlist for a range of family and senior housing across 11 sites in the city, beginning from Tuesday until Friday, Action News 5 reported. Despite the opportunity to apply, placement on the waitlist or receipt of a housing voucher is not guaranteed.
Applications started to be accepted from 8:00 a.m. on the 15th and will continue until 5 p.m. on the 18th. The waitlist includes family housing communities with up to four bedrooms and senior housing for the elderly with one-bedroom units. While it’s a chance for many to potentially secure housing assistance, the MHA made it clear that applying does not guarantee to immediately secure a spot on the list or a voucher, as seen in a statement obtained by Local Memphis.
The list of eligible sites was detailed by FOX13 Memphis, ranging from Cleaborn Point at Heritage Landing, which offers senior and family housing, to Venson Center, providing units for family housing.
