Officer injured when driver backs up during traffic stop: MPD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A police officer was injured when a driver allegedly backed into a squad car and sped away during a traffic stop Friday.

Officers were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle at McLemore and Rayner in South Memphis.

As officers approached the vehicle, they say the driver backed up, striking an officer and the squad car.
