Memphis authorities are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a car theft and potential kidnapping at a local gas station, with circumstances escalating as the same individual purportedly returned to commit another crime. According to Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) has reported an incident that occurred Thursday night when a mother found her vehicle, which she left running, stolen from the parking lot of Lion Mart on Winchester Road with her child inside.
The child was later found unharmed three blocks away, moments after the theft around 10:50 p.m., but the suspect remains at large.
