Man accused of helping MPD officer dump body asks courts to keep sentencing date

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man accused of helping an officer dispose of a body is petitioning the courts to resume trial.

Joshua Rogers and a former MPD officer, Patric Ferguson, worked alongside each other in disposing of a murder victim’s body, who was identified as Robert Howard; Rogers later pleaded guilty to helping Ferguson dispose of the body.

Rogers is asking the courts to continue the sentence hearing currently set for Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m…
