More than 20 MSCS schools test positive for lead in water

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Lead water tests recently conducted by Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) revealed elevated lead levels “from 27 individual water sources at 24 school locations,” according to MSCS officials.

Parents of Bellevue Middle School and Central High School students received a letter from the district Monday, Aug. 4, alerting them to the test results and outlining steps taken to mitigate the issue.
